OCD

I was reading several articles about OCD. The subject really interests me because of the fact that I hear about it so often. There are reality TV shows revealing the lives of people all around the world who have atypical cleaning, touching, obsessive, compulsive habits. I personally know some "especially clean/hygenic" people that go over board trying to sanitize things. What could the cause be for these people to be such germ-o-phobes? One article says that stress is a major cause. I guess I can start to understand where the problem may originate. After the person realizes that they have OCD, are they supposed to lock themselves up in a germy room to get rid of the habit? Is it even a habit? Is medication the only solution to OCD?

I think putting them in a room full of germs would break them down. I also wonder what the cure for OCD could be.

Its weird to try to understand how an OCD person works because you think why don't they stop their OCD tendency, but in their mind if they don't do these certain activities and quirks they can not function properly or feel uneased
Good Post

yeah, OCD is confusing and i know someone who has it too. it's hard for them to stop, but they also realize that they have the condition, a lot of the time. i think a treatment is anti-depressants.

good post.

i think it's so sad that OCD is brought on by stress. some people can't do anything to control their stress levels. so i wonder the sam thing, is medication the only solution? this was very insightful, good job!
